
Lorie began her EMS career as a PVES volunteer more than 25 years ago. She volunteered as a dispatcher and EMT for 2 years while earning her paramedic and instructor credentials. She retired from Grayson College in 2015 after 22 years teaching EMT and paramedic courses. Her experience includes 9 years of service with the Governor’s EMS and Trauma Advisory Council, Education Committee. During her appointment she traveled the state of Texas promoting standardization of EMS education in Texas and coaching EMS education programs seeking national accreditation. These efforts earned her, and her fellow Education Committee members, recognition as 2011 EMS Educator of the Year by the Texas Department of State Health Services. Lorie rejoined PVES as a Board member in August 2016. She received her Bachelor of Applied Sciences degree in Business Administration from Texas A&M University, Commerce.
